Landon outlines Nixon’s new world policy disengagement
Former Kansas governor Alf Landon, appearing on President's Corner, argues Nixon is pursuing a gradual disengagement from Cold War containment. He cites troop cuts in Vietnam and Korea, plans to scale back in West Germany, and Nixon’s move toward recognizing Russia’s influence in the Middle East. Landon stresses a calm, firm shift away from world policing toward measured diplomacy and selective strength.
