Man Hauls Mailbox Daily to Foil Vandals in Missouri
Ike J. Mungle, a Kennett farmer, hauls his mailbox each morning to the roadside to collect mail and bring it back home a quarter mile away. After 20 mailboxes were destroyed over 15 years, he strapped a hoe handle to the box and uses a ground pipe to secure it. He says pranks by youths drive repeated damage and postal authorities have investigated without success.
