Montgomery County Bicentennial ends as Historical Society inherits funds
WELLSVILLE The Montgomery County Bicentennial Commission closed its doors turning assets totaling just under 3000 over to the Montgomery County Historical Society. The funds, raised from groups, organizations and individuals, were intended as matching money for a schoolhouse restoration grant that did not materialize. The Hickory Wood Schoolhouse near Jonesburg, offered by the Jonesburg Lions Club, would be weatherproofed and restored later with a 1000 placed on time deposits for upkeep. The transfer was approved with conditions to accept bills immediately and honor future restoration plans. Dr. William Harrison received a token of appreciation for his leadership. Also noted were amendments to be voted on at Tuesday's election explained to Kiwanis. The Kiwanis group planned two park work nights for the Fall Festival. Charles Deiter led the meeting. Mrs. Joe Jackson and Mrs. Fred Dorman returned from Mexico after visiting family.

A curfew for Tri County Park and city park policy, plus bids on street work and building permits, were also discussed.
