Dale Morgans to Be Monroe Farm Family
Mrs. Jane Ransdell reports Dale Abigan and family named Monroe County farm family for the Alstouri State Fair on August 21. The Morgans, farming since 1944 on 100 acres, raise beef cattle hogs corn beans and wheat using the University of Missouri farm record system. Active in 4-H and Extension work, with several family members in leadership roles, the family also participates in FHA PRA and Tulip Christian Church activities.

Missouri Young Farmers Tour and Wives Association Meet
About five hundred members of the Missouri Young Farmers Association and their wives attended the annual State Tour and Young Farm Wives event on July 31 and Aug. The Marshall and Sweet Springs hosts welcomed visiting couples, with Missouri Valley College serving as headquarters. The program toured ten farms, the MFA Research Farm near Marshall, and included a Lyceum show at Arrow Rock and the filming of Tom Sawyer. A banquet was held Monday night and local attendees included the R-G Chapter crew from Scott's Corner. Kathleen Roegge of Paris, crowned Miss MEC, previously earned Miss Old Thresher at the Paris Old Threshers Reunion.

Personal News Of Hatton Involves Community Painting Drive
A group from North Como Presbyterian Church in St Paul spent a week in Callaway with three advisors aiding painting and repairs. Sponsored by Ecumenical Ministries of Fulton the volunteers helped George McCarty and Harold McCarthys properties while Pleasant Grove Church members provided a carry in lunch. Howard Davis of Hatton celebrated a birthday with friends at the Davis home and at his sister’s home in a gathering with several local residents.
