Fashion Doll Of Creasey Collection Featured
At Audrain County Historical Society this week the Fashion or Dressmaker Doll from the Roy Creasey collection is highlighted. The doll, found in Canada by Mrs. Creasey, has brown glass eyes and separately stitched fingers. Originating in France about six centuries ago, it wore a full wardrobe and inspired women to imitate fashions before patterns and magazines existed. The piece sparked interest as fashion babies were sent abroad to showcase French design and as gifts between royal households. New members and memorial tributes accompany the feature, with hosts Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ward listed for Sunday.
