Move Missouri Capital to St Louis Proposed
Alderman Richard Gephardt says he will introduce a resolution to move the Missouri capital from Jefferson City to St. Louis. He notes nearly half of state legislators represent districts in the metro area and that the region contains the bulk of Missouri's population and financial interests. The plan would allow a referendum on moving all state capital operations or rotating sessions among St Louis, Kansas City and Jefferson City.
