Kansas City Blues coach Barclay Plager denied knowledge of a strike rumors as the Central Hockey League playoff series against the Tulsa Oilers faced disruption. The CHL said players from both teams demanded finishing the playoffs by month end with a potential seventh game set for May 3.

Centralia Country Club will hold a two man scramble golf tournament Sunday May 15 with Flights A and B teeing off starting at 8 a.m. and championship play at 1 p.m. Merchandise prizes will be awarded to the first three finishers in each flight. entry is $20 per team and entries may be mailed to Centralia Country Club, P.O. Panthers Nip Foes In Golf at Centralia
Centralia Panthers edged Clarence Cannon Conference rivals in a varsity golf match. The A-team tally was 179 for Centralia, with Macon at 182 and South Shelby 186. Chuck link shot 39 for nine holes, while Ray Keplar and Steve Green each shot 44 and Brian Vennson 52. Macon’s Mike Cunningham led his team with 41, Dennis Klusmeyer matched 41 for South Shelby.
