National Library Week activities at the Media Center
During National Library Week April 9 to 13 the Media Center offered bookmarks and a bulletin display. A new project Capsule Comments began, with readers leaving brief notes on books and recommendations. Keith Hightower commented on Ice Station Zebra calling it an engaging suspense novel.

MHS Students Chase UFOs in Piedmont Weekend Visit
MHS physics students used a three day Spring Music Festival weekend to travel to Piedmont Missouri to investigate unidentified flying objects. They interviewed witnesses while disc jockey Dennis Hovis provided additional sightings and local teachers noted lights, shadows, and cone shaped forms.

Council reports progress on school improvement committees meeting
At the Mexico Senior High Student Council meeting last Tuesday, chairmen presented progress on improving school operations. Four trash barrels will cost 3.50 each from Mr. Elmer Aussicker, a general student handbook will be compiled, and all-state plaque costs were outlined. A potential revision of the MHS system to resemble Jefferson City was discussed for 1973 74.
