Rain Delays Spring Plowing Amid Flooding Across Ledgerland
Rain measured near an inch to 1.2 inches halted spring plowing as farmers, already behind after an early cold wet spell, wait for fields to dry. The Weather Bureau forecasts more rain and storms through Friday with mild to chilly temperatures. Farther south, heavier rainfall reached two inches, South Fork neared flood stage, and oil residues may be flushed from upstream fish kills. Also included is a birth notice for Sheldon Wayne Cooper born April 12 at Audrain Medical Center weighing 4 pounds 8 ounces, grandson of Phyllis Young and James A. Cooper.
