Budget Recommendation Threatens Commission Budget
The Appropriations Committee faces a formal adoption, with Sen. Donald Manford saying the budget proposal reflects doubts about the commission’s status after a Cole County Court ruling. Judge Byron Kinder deemed the 1974 law unconstitutional and the Missouri Supreme Court will hear the appeal next month. The six commissioners express disappointment and hope the Senate restores the original budget request.

The 65 year old shells Knob resident is charged with second degree murder in the 1976 shooting death of former patient Cynthia Jane Hall, 60, at Aurora. Hall was fatally wounded February 11, 1976, at a friend’s home while recovering from surgery.
