Former A P Green Home Listed as Local Landmark
Audrain County Historical Society and Missouri State Park Board profile the former A P Green Home at 1105 S Jefferson St. built in the mid 1890s by Judge William Stuart and later owned by A P Green, head of the A P Green Fire Brick Co. The neo classical mansion features 18 rooms, three chimneys, five marble fireplaces, a brick wall, formal gardens, and a sun deck. Now owned by Frank E Kent, the house has undergone selective restoration while preserving woodwork, with efforts to locate original period furnishings. The site is slated for eventual national-site surveying this year.
