Navarro County Honors Outstanding Senior Citizens
Outstanding Senior Citizens of Navarro County are recognized with awards for 1973. Miss Athria McElwreath and Paul Moore receive the honors, with McElwreath noted for missionary nursing in China and teaching LVN courses, and Moore active in Salvation Army and hospital boards. The ceremony, held Friday in Corsicana’s First National Bank Sky Room, was hosted by the County Health and Aging Committee.

Screwworm Cases On The Upswing In Texas
Screwworm cases rise in Texas with 89 confirmed by May 1 as warm wet weather boosts activity. Twenty-one cases in two weeks, including a San Saba County case on April 27, signal possible spread from northern Mexico and southern Texas.
