New Officers Installed at Mexia Lions Club

The Mexia Lions Club held a noon luncheon meeting to install new officers and directors for the coming year. Ralph Jones became President with W. D. Blank as 1st Vice President and W. L. 30000 Workers Strike at 12 International Harvester Plants

In Chicago on June 29, more than 30,000 CIO United Farm Equipment Workers walked out at 12 International Harvester plants. The strike began at midnight after a 30 day extension expired, despite ongoing talks under a Federal Labor Conciliator.
