Ten thousand persons gathered in the municipal auditorium to organize a local Ku Klux Klan branch. Commissioner Means ordered dispersal after threats of objection from two Catholic priests in army uniforms, triggering a near riot and the meeting’s end.
Three Goose Creek men J E Harper Jas Bradley and W E Wiles jailed for contempt of court after refusing Harris county grand jury questions will be brought before Judge G C W Robinson at 10 a m today to repeat the questioning. A 2000 strong crowd protested their incarceration last Thursday as they planned to answer questions following legal counsel advice.
