Chamber of Commerce directors set yearlong civic work plan
The Mexia Chamber of Commerce directors met and mapped a year of civic projects with member input. Ralph Jones announced the East Texas district conference in Mexia with J A Schnable and Jones as co chairmen and Howard Hambleton of Waco to preside at the noon meeting. A retail training course in collaboration with Mexia public schools and the UT extension division will start Monday. Merchants will meet Thursday at 7 30 pm at the C of C offices to choose training course offerings for a week long session. Major projects will cover agriculture industry civic education transportation public relations state school membership and finance taxation and legislation and trade development.
