War Veteran John C Phillips Dies in Texas
John Cecil Phillips 26 died Tuesday morning at Veterans Hospital in Legion Texas after a several year illness. He served in the National Guard at World War II start, in Company B 148th Infantry, and fell ill at Camp Blanding Florida in 1942. Survived by wife and daughter Gloria Sue three, and his parents Mr and Mrs D D Phillips of Mexia. Funeral plans await body arrival with wife and sister Mae Carlton to Mexia.
