Mexia Youth Killed in Highway Crash Near Mexia
Private William A Phillips 27 son of Mr and Mrs W A Phillips Sr of Mexia died in a car accident on Highway 04 west of Mexia on the night of June 6. He was a 1944 Mexia High School graduate, lettered in football, served eight years in the armed forces, attended Westminster College, and earned unit citations during his service. He was stationed at Connally Air Force Base at the time of his death.
