The Pioneer Girl Scouts of North Central Texas open the camp’s third session at Fort Parker State Park. Girls ages 10 to 18 from 11 counties attend May 31 to June 20 with two weekly sessions. A man and a woman from Grand Prairie are in serious condition after a gas explosion in a tourist court Sunday. Calvin L. Allen and Mary Sims suffered third degree burns over their bodies as three cabins were destroyed in the blast, police said.

Avery S Hoyt says Texas Southmost College will host the five acre laboratory near the Big Grande river with a 20 year lease and monthly rents of about 900 dollars first decade and 300 dollars second decade. A sub laboratory will also be set up at Lubbock for ballworm research.
