Fort Worth June 4 Marshal Spoonts former district attorney died at his mother’s home early this morning. He was well known in Mexia and had oil promoting ties during Texas oil boom years. He faced federal indictment over oil promoter investigations and is survived by his widow two sisters and a brother.

A legislative subcommittee will soon name counsel to represent the State Superintendent after Attorney General Keeling declined. The legislature has passed a bill voiding the December awards.
Reports say Gabriele D'Annunzio and Ida Rubenstein have reconciled after prior estrangement. Ida returns to Paris from Africa as D'Annunzio speeds there to join her for the premiere of his play Phedre with her as the central figure, while he plans to attend the production.
