In El Paso Henry Baffy Friar a college student described as insane was found after the killing of Officer Mitchell on May 18. Friar fired a volley of shots including a machine gun and tear gas as police attempted to arrest him at the student’s home. he surrendered after a fire destroyed part of the residence.
Local residents report visits and movements across nearby towns. Families including the Franklins and Williams attend graduations in Bogota and Mexia, with several others traveling to Teague and Buffalo. Moves include NeaI Schibe relocating to Houston, and 4-H club activities noted for Groesbeck participants.

County officials cite Mrs Chrystelle Adams and Mrs Ruby Wedgeworth as visiting teachers serving 20 white and Negro schools in Limestone County during 1952 53. They improve attendance by home visits, aid census and residency records, assist with clothing needs and fundraising, and coordinate film based audiovisual education.

Awards went to Jodie Martin for perfect attendance and reading certificates to Doyle Randall and Jimmy Murray. 4-H award earned by Ann Herod. Visitors Dr Edgar Ivan Thorne Wyatt Hayter and Mr Smith of Mexia with C E Gregory and Marvin Pruitt toured local pastures last week. Mr and Mrs J W Thompson of Thornton visited.
Mrs Chub Martin of San Antonio and Mr and Mrs Robes at Fort Worth are among visitors. Mr and Mrs R M Martin, Sands DW Thomas Jr and daughter Karen of Beaumont, visit Mr and Mrs D Thomas. Mr and Mrs J B Jones also visit.
Mr and Mrs Vernon Thompson spent Sunday afternoon with her uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs Lige Lindley of Thornton.
