Fire damages Mexia home on East Titus
Three Mexia Fire Department units responded to a fire at the Ada Benson home in the 1100 block of East Titus at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The wood frame house had three rooms gutted but most of the structure was saved. Fire origin suspected to be electrical problems. Assistant Chief Donald Holmes noted strong turnout of regular and volunteer firefighters.

Parole violator arrested here as two officers train
Mexia police reported one arrest yesterday on a Jefferson County parole violation. Troy Chambers Jr was arrested and taken to Limestone County jail for transfer to the Texas Department of Corrections.
