Charles Ramsey, President-elect of the 40000-member Texas Public Employes Association, will speak at Mexia chapter 56 TPEA Thursday at 7 30 pm at Mexia State School. He will discuss convention proposals for Houston in August. A TPEA Picnic is planned for June 10 at Lake Mexia Day Camp with a women's softball game and a men's volleyball game. An election of a dominatings committee will also be on the agenda.

Stacy Harrison daughter of Mr and Mrs Bert Harrison won a state level audition in Waco to advance to the Miss Cinderella Pageant June 28 to July 3 also in Waco. She placed among six top talents after a Hello Dolly performance and modeling, interview and talent judging. The Mexia student will compete for first prize and a $500 scholarship at the next contest.
Local singers led by Gene Boyd entertained the Mexia Lions Club at their weekly luncheon. Accompanied by Jack Jones from First Baptist Church music program, Robin Lakey Sheryl Talley Suzanne Carruth Linda Boyd Susan Talley and Trudy Hughes performed a varied musical program for Lions members and HUESIS.

Wilmer Herring president of Memorial Association, Mrs McKenzie Masters secretary, Billy Sterling treasurer. Large crowd anticipated. former residents invited to attend.
The Dr. M. I. Barger Memorial Scholarship will award $200 to Mexia High School graduate Vicki Jane Parrish who plans to attend McLennan Community College in Waco. The award is contingent on college enrollment. if plans change the money stays in the memorial fund for a future graduate.
The First United Methodist Church sponsored Mother's Morning Out winds down after a successful run for mothers and children. The group will resume operations in September as participants toured Mexia Fire Station for a special treat.
