Three Texas 4-H members returned from the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago along with 1,500 youths from across the United States Puerto Rico and Canada. Phyllis Stroman 17 of Lomet a earned an expense paid trip as the states 1965 automotive project winner Irene Henze 17 of San Antonio and Sandra Schultz 18 of Bryan attended as Santa Fe Railway education award winners. Stroman rebuilt an engine and earned the automotive award over several boys while Henze won a $500 college scholarship and has multiple county and state honors. Schultz a University of St Thomas freshman served as mistress of ceremonies and led county and district 4-H programs with safety and dress exhibits among others.
