Community Notices From Mexia Area Events and Deaths
Thursday services were held at Potters Shop cemetery near Oletha. Mexia residents Mr. and Mrs. Harry Salvant visited Waco Tuesday. Mrs. Lynn Adams hosted a party in East Milam Tuesday honoring grandson Lynn Adams Hammer, son of Carlton and Mrs. Hammer. Cherrie Ann Roberts celebrated her fourth birthday with a party at her parents’ home. The Mexia CCC Camp buildings were given to the Texas Park Board for Fort Parker State Park use. Mrs. N. A. Stephens, 60, died Monday in Groesbeck. funeral at LaSalle. Mrs. E. E. Harrington, formerly Miss Margaret May of Mexia, buried Tuesday in Plano. she was a Mexia graduate, daughter of George D. and Mrs. May.

Long Awaited Reunion Ends In Tragic Plane Crash
Wieslaw Skowronski and Zbiegniew Skowronski, war brothers who survived the 1944 Warsaw uprising, planned a Christmas reunion in Warsaw. Wieslaw’s return from Canada failed when his Brussels East Berlin flight crashed on approach, killing him. Zbiegniew mourns, holding a photo as he awaits word on the body.
