UN troops repelled a major Chinese assault on the Seoul invasion route at T Bone Hill. About 1,000 Communist attackers were killed or driven back after hours of savage fighting aided by UN artillery.
Billie Shonnae known as the flame of New Orleans says her husband Roscoe Ailes killed Alfred Rosenfield Jr. in a gun duel after Rosenfield threatened to force entry to their apartment. Attorney Mary Hughes says Rosenfield pursued Shonnae after seeing her perform and that she had informed him she was married.
A university student in Omaha agrees to repay funds taken from crippled children by working at a restaurant. William Lee, 19, signed a pledge to earn the missing money through weekly labor for eight weeks, under the co owner Ralph Cohen. The case involves a donation jar stolen from a canteen supporting a Crteighton unit.
Businessmen and citizens in Mexia distributed Christmas gifts to about 450 boys and girls at the Mexia State School and Home last night. The event, the second annual party, featured a decorated tree and Santa Claus, with gifts from the Statesmooth Committee of the Mexia Chamber of Commerce and local officials. Additional gifts and a musical program were planned for the theater building, with next a movie for the children.
A group of Calvary Baptist Church youths went on a hayride at night and became lost for several hours before returning home around 3 o clock. No injuries reported and authorities were notified.

Gov. Allen Shivers appoints District Judge Ben W. Boyd of Denton to the Second Court of Civil Appeals at Fort Worth, succeeding Judge Frank Culver. The appointment takes effect Jan 1 when Culver moves to the Texas Supreme Court.
The Texas Employment Commission reports November year shows more new workers added than any month since August 1851. The data indicate rising hiring across Texas businesses, signaling a strong labor market for the period.

Seaman Howard H. Walker of Groesbeck arrives in the United States on December 19 at San Diego California aboard the destroyer USS Richard B. Anderson. The ship has spent seven months on a second tour of combat duty in the Far East and Korean waters.
Urgent calls have come in for crutches from A. W. DeGuire, county Red Cross chair man, asking borrowers who no longer need adjustable crutches to return them to the local Red Cross office.
Heavy cool air from the Gulf brought up to 10 inches of snow across parts of the Texas Panhandle with Dalhart Amarillo and Childress reporting significant totals. Roads stayed open as patrols tracked slick conditions while forecasts warned of more snow and cooler temperatures across the state.
Christmas mass will be held at St Marys Catholic Church in Mexia tomorrow morning at 7:30 and at the church in Teague at 9. Father George Ellendorff, pastor, says there will be no midnight mass at either church.

Houston report says attorney Percy Foreman stated Nago Alaniz and Alice lawyer are charged in the murder of Jacob S Floyd Jr and are hiding. Foreman claims he advised the charged to surrender within ten days, likely before New Year’s Day. Wright of Jim Wells County corroborated the guidance.
The Perricone brothers Anthony Bernard Carl and Donald, Beaumonts 23 year old quads drafted together in 1951, arrive at Camp Stoneman with 2852 Korean War veterans awaiting 24 hour processing for homebound discharge. They expect to fly to San Antonio later Wednesday and plan to buy a cattle ranch on the GI bill with family ties guiding the venture. Carl notes it will be a family affair after a shared Army career including tank duties and mine explosions test their resilience.
FBI agents sought a Buffalo businessman accused of kidnapping his own young daughter from the home of his former wife on December 18. The case began after her present husband fired one shot at the suspect’s car later that night.
