Christmas Air Mail Is Started
Christmas air mail began today as a fatal air crash near Kanesville Iowa claimed the life of Charles Gilbert a winged Santa Claus of the night mail. A coroner in Geneva Illinois said Gilbert apparently fell from about 1500 feet during a snow storm while en route from Chicago to Omaha with Christmas mail. Arrangements were made to return the body to Plainsville Kansas for burial. Gilbert’s parents live there.
