The Pure Oil Company's Bounds 1, west of the X All highway near Simmons lease, came in this afternoon as the tenth gusher in Wortham oil field. It followed a freeze held entry and is expected to yield 8000 to 11000 barrels. This is the westernmost well aside from the Humphreys Boyd N B Boyd find, and the second well brought in this week within 21 hours.
Farmers Gas Company a Lone Star Gas subsidiary has taken over the Mexia gas Company's business and franchise under a recent agreement. The service was assumed during a cold spell and appreciated by local patrons.
In Coolidge a new 50000 dollar hotel nears completion near the T and B station. R T Bell is building it and furniture has begun arriving. The project adds to the town’s progress and is a notable local development.

The body of Charles Gilbert, missing air mail flyer, was discovered twenty miles east of DeKalb. Reports say he lost control at about 100 feet, and exposure and cold killed him after the crash near the demolished plane. he likely tried to reach a farmhouse but could not endure the cold.
