The annual FFA Sweetheart Contest and Talent Show occurred at Corsicana High School Auditorium at 7 pm. Glenda Vardeman was crowned FFA Sweetheart with Max Hines as FFA president and George Hamilton chosen as alternate. Talent prizes paid $10, $7.50, and $3 with a $1.50 entry fee in both contests.

A Mexia High School Christmas program was presented yesterday afternoon at one o'clock in the high school auditorium. Directed by Mrs. Jeffalene Stover with Betty Tucker as accompanist, the program featured three divisions. The first two parts included solos quartets and duets by the full choir, while the third part combined the Mexian High School and Junior High Choirs in a rendition of Let's Pray For Peace followed by a sale by Bobby Liles.
