Four Hurt in Limestone County Accidents Over Weekend

Weekend accidents in Limestone County left four people hospitalized after collisions at Bailey and Palestine streets in Mexia and on the Groesbeck highway. Other statewide crashes killed five in Dallas and injured many more, with a chartered bus crash injuring thirty-two Oklahoma National Guard soldiers north of Orange.

Rail Walkout Hits Nations Defense

A wildcat trainmen strike in Toledo Ohio threatens the national wage dispute settlement with rail carriers. Brotherhood officials say the Toledo walkout on three lines including Baltimore and Ohio Wheel ing and Lake Erie and Detroit and Toledo Shore line is unauthorized and could impede talks. Mexia Theater Toy Drive Tops Prior Turnouts

Mexia State School will receive hundreds of donated toys gathered from a toy for a ticket event at the Mexia Theater Saturday morning. About 400 local youngsters attended cartoons and comedies, each bringing at least one toy to swap for admission. The estimate value reached up to 500 dollars. Boy Scouts assisted owner Maurice Easterling in delivering the toys to the state school for Christmas distribution.

The House passed unanimously a bill to provide former service members with $10,000 free life insurance retroactive to June 27, the date American forces entered Korea. If death occurs the beneficiary would receive 120 equal monthly payments totaling about $92 each month.

The UN cease fire commission said Communist China has not replied to a request for a conference to end Korea hostilities. Lester B. Pearson called China's silence not surprising given time zones.
