Early morning blaze in an eight unit Negro building leaves five dead and five hurt, including a two month old. Victims identified as Eugene Walker 42 Willie Davis 2 month old, Ernest Mikle 28 Carrie Bell Milde 19 and Jack Adams about 30. Mikle saved his infant but died after being struck and losing consciousness. Nearby Little Rock farm fire claims six children and leaves parents in critical condition after a kerosene explosion. Limestone County liquor cases raise fines in Groesbeck
In Limestone county over the past two days two dozen liquor violations surfaced as Sheriff Harry Dunlap reported pleas and fines. Laura Grigg of Coolidge pleaded guilty to possessing liquor for sale and was fined 250 dollars plus costs after a raid on her cafe. Others including S. L. Ber and E. E How ard faced fines for transporting untaxed liquor and wine in a dry area. County Judge Norton Fox and County Attorney Joe Schultz oversaw the cases with fines ranging from 100 to 500 dollars and liquor confiscation.
