Second Graders Present Christmas For Others Operetta
Second grade students of Ross Avenue Elementary will present the operetta Christmas For Others on Monday morning at 9 for students and teachers and on Tuesday at 7 30 pm for the public. Both shows in the school auditorium feature special costumes with music by Beverly Hollingsworth and direction by Mrs. McGowan, Mrs. Aultman, and Mrs. Gray Jr. The Tuesday performance aligns with the regular Parent Teacher association meeting.

Murder Indictment Returned Against Mexia Negro Man
Groesbeck deputy sheriff said Walter Gibbs of Mexia was indicted for murder by the 77th District grand jury after his wife Rosa May Gibbs was shot near Mexia with a .22 rifle late Tuesday night. Also indicted were Quebie Ainsworth for assault with intent to murder after a knife attack on L. L. Lyles. No indictments were returned regarding the Groesbeck traffic wreck that killed 10 year old Jerry Denton of Fairfield.

Funeral Services Held In Groesbeck For George Brooks
George S. Brooks longtime Limestone county resident died at his Horn Hill home Friday afternoon from a heart attack at age 64. Funeral services were conducted Saturday in Groesbeck with ministers James Thompson and Olin Waldrip, burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Survivors include his wife two daughters one son two siblings and five grandchildren.

Dallas men die in marsh plane crash

Aggies Coach Beaten at Shamrock Hotel in Houston
Texas A&M coach Harry Stiteler was seriously beaten Friday night near the Shamrock hotel in Houston before a banquet in his honor. A former Aggie and hotel doorman described a large assailant striking the gray haired coach as he arrived from Dallas. Stiteler, in his third season, had led the Cadets to seven wins and four losses.
