Training Saved Life by Lost Girl Scout Ruth Aberle
Ruth Aberle a sixteen year old Kelso High School sophomore said her Girl Scout training saved her life during the 96 hours she was lost in a northern Washington forest. Found yesterday in a deserted cabin after some 1000 men searched ten thousand acres eight miles north of Kelso she said shelter freezing weather and water from a stream kept her alive. She survived by propping the cabin door to stay warm and sleeping on the floor with no food, drinking only water until rescue arrived.
