Dairying and Tree Planting Winners Shine at 4H Congress
Mike Hinders of Canyon represented northwest Texas at the National 4H Congress in Chicago December 1 5 amid 1650 winners. He led a dairy project of nine cows and 12 heifers and earned honors with guidance from his family and a short course. Frances Wheeler of Levelland won top state forestry honors in a second year, planting pecan and fruit trees, giving forestry demonstrations, and receiving a pen and pencil set from American Forest Institute. Both were named by Texas A and M Extension Service and supported by the Oliver Corporation and local sponsors.
