Banquet closes football season with jackets and awards
The Mexia Black Cats football season wrapped with a Thursday banquet hosted by Arlington State coach Claude Gilstrap. Senior lettermen received red wool jackets with black leather sleeves, co-captains were named Robert Conn and Maurice Fife, and three players made the All-district team with three more honorable mentions. Basketball started alongside, Ath en’s team lost two games but showed promise, and Mexia highlighted girls basketball as well.
