Christmas Cheer In Small-Town Notices
Mrs. Howard Smith finds an 1861 two and a half dollar gold piece as an early Christmas present. A holiday classroom break is announced for teachers and aides this Friday. The latest pound report lists several dogs, a shepherd mix, a small black longhair, a brown female, and a six month old collie. The annual Christmas operetta directed by Mrs. Jim Ramsey features third grade students December 12 at 7 30 p m in Mexia High auditorium. VFW Hospital Chairman E H Ballard reports happiness at the December hospital visit aided by a $100 donation from the Ladies Auxiliary totaling $300 for the Christmas fund with attendees Doc Ingram and Mrs Ingram and Mr and Mrs John Minchew. Nora Gonzalez Katie Sutherland and Ballard are noted among participants. The Sunshine Singers plan two Sunday appearances at Line Street United Methodist Church Hillsboro at 11 00 and 3 00 at Cedar Hill Nursing Home.
