The Student Council raised funds with a house to house sale of World’s Finest Chocolate on Monday night November 22. The sale supports school expenses and included eight groups with internal competitions. Ricky Holloway chaired the event. most candy was sold by Tuesday.

A yearbook price targets December sales with a $4.60 donor value, as the Taylor Publishing company may publish the yearbook.

Gale Hubbard a Mexia High School senior and son of Mr and Mrs James H Hubbard Route 3 Box 325 Mexia has been chosen junior Rotarian for December. He participated in band track and Student Council and was active as secretary and other roles. He was selected by Mrs L C Stuver, Mr A B McBay and the senior sponsors based on scholarship leadership citizenship and character.
Lorena Stevens, daughter of Mr and Mrs J Stevens, enrolled at Mexia High School on Monday November 22 after attending Booneville High in Arkansas for three months. She previously spent eleven years at Huntsville High, was active in the Hornet Band for six years, and belonged to the IHSA Sports Club and Musical Appreciation Club at Huntsville High. She said Mexia High is a great improvement over Booneville.
Forest Glade Mews notes photographs from November 21 show mostly good images with a few critics. Shelly White joins from Conrad Montana in fourth grade as classmates pledge a warm welcome. School offices for the third six weeks were elected led by Alder Gartha as president and Kerrey Berretary as treasurer.
The Mexia High Student Council met Tuesday in the auditorium. Ricky Hollaway reported on the candy sale, the major fund raising project netted 90 dollars. Janet Burke spoke on Christmas season plains and decorations, with a fuller report to come next meeting. Ronny Ross updated on the District Student Council meeting at Rogers High School.
Mexia High School held a joint Thanksgiving assembly with the Future Nurses the Choir and the Student Council. Mrs G W Ferragon led the Future Nurses who awarded pins to eleven girls for 100 hours of voluntary work. The choir sang I Walk with God and Give Us This Day. Reverend C D Woasten spoke on gratitude and was represented by the Ministerial Alliance. Larry Evans introduced him and Dean Wallace delivered the benediction.
Tehuacana Elementary School announces the second six weeks honor roll list. Principal Jes Tom Tims identifies eight students David Batos Sunny Fowler Janis Shoran Liz Bates Steve Shoran Micki Calame Debra Bounds and Donald Shoran for academic achievement.

The Atlanta Braves will open spring training on February 22 in West Palm Beach Florida. President John McHale said the club plans a full camp with workouts and exhibition games as the team builds toward the season.
