Hollywood reports Charlie Chaplin may travel to Europe to finish an unfinished film while his estranged wife Lita Gray heads back to acting in Hollywood. Friends say plans hinge on ongoing legal negotiations between their attorneys over their domestic gift.
The senate bill proposes to lease the Muscle Shoals plant in Alabama to the Farmers Federated Fertilizers Corporation for 50 years under quasi federal control to supply low cost fertilizer to American farmers. Senator Ernest of Kentucky sponsors the plan.
Fire of undetermined origin consumed Roy Flynn's residence on Milam street near Ross avenue Monday night. The structure owned by Jesse McLendon and built years ago for 8500 dollars was completely destroyed despite a quick response by the fire department which saved neighboring houses. The family was away at the picture show when the blaze broke out.

In Gay Mills Wisconsin a snowy funeral procession moved to honor Clara Olson. An improvised hearse carried the coffin down a mountain road through six inches of snow as the father Chris Olson and family followed, marking the start of the girl's final love story.

Hugh David Butler, 18, of Groesbeck, known as Hoptoe, remains jailed in Limestone County on two counts of murder. Judge J. Ross Bell continued the case to February, citing witness nonappearance and motions for venue, as prosecutors seek the electric chair. Butler sat with his young wife through the proceedings as about 175 witnesses were summoned. crowding and delays marked the day.
