Twenty four students at Mexia High and 1955 members inducted into the National Honor Society during a Friday afternoon assembly in the Mexia High School Auditorium. Inductees were chosen for scholarship leadership character and service with a tea for honorees and guests held in the homemaking cottage.

He previously attended Olney High School and Cis co Junior College, participating in the Olney FFA and Cisco Agricultural Club. He taught in Mexia High School's Agriculture Department while continuing his college coursework.

Some students will attempt two instruments. Beer brewing techniques were perfected in the monasteries in the early days of the Christian era.

Sixteen senior girls compete for Mexia High School Homemaker of Tomorrow honors on Tuesday during 2nd period. The top entrant could qualify for national scholarships up to 5000 dollars as the Betty Crocker program emphasizes healthy attitudes and family living skills beyond cooking and sewing.
The Twentieth Annual Voice of Democracy Contest will take place Thursday December 8 in the Mexia High School auditorium. Contestants from the 10th 11th and 12th grades will present minute speeches on the topic. Prizes of 25 15 and 10 will go to the top three speakers. The winning speech will be taped by KBUS to be sent to the district contest in Waco. The student will wait for results.

Mexia High School reports 43 students on the second honor roll for the year. Freshmen lead with 16 students, sophomores have 13, juniors four, and seniors ten, with named students by class.
Four fifth grade classes from Ross Elementary visited the Chattanooga Glass Plant in Corsicana last week. Guides showed the material mixing furnace at 2800 degrees and the blow mold machine producing bottles. Students observed labeling testing and tempering belts and toured the lab. Lunch was at Corsicana City Park. A PTA meeting at Ross on November 22 noted Mrs. W D Hancock’s room with the most parents. Sharon Jones named good citizen of the week in Hancock’s room.
