Building Work Starts at Mexia State School

A Dallas architect staked off the site for a 750000 dollar Mexia State School and Home building program set to begin in February as part of a planned four million dollar permanent plant. Architect John Willshire drew six dormitories and a central dining hall while soil tests and drainage lines were laid. Bids may be opened by January 10 with construction starting early February.

Taxes Paid Near $200000 in Limestone County in 1950

Limestone County taxpayers paid nearly 200000 in state and county taxes during October and November 1950, with October receipts totaling 116542.31 and November estimated at 27985.35.
