New UT Course Opens Division for Child Training and Care
Special to The News from Austin reports the University of Texas creates a Division of Child Training and Care in the Home Economics Department. Miss Mary Edna Gearing leads the effort funded by a $10,000 grant from the Texas Public Health Association. The division opens January 1, 1926 to train for motherhood and child care with a sixteen-child enrollment limit and daily programs mirroring a normal home life.

Hall and kin freed in famed Hall Mills murder case
In Somerville New Jersey December 4 1937 the Hall Mills murder trial ended with not guilty verdicts for Mrs Frances Stevens Hall Henry and Willie Stevens and cousin Henry De La Carpender on the central charges. The court granted motion to dismiss remaining indictments while special prosecutor Senator Alexander Simpson was absent. The acquittal freed Mrs Hall and her brothers from the slaying of Mrs Eleanor Mills and she expressed pure happiness and relief to reporters.

Cotton Finance Ready Tuesday by Texas Bank Plan
The Texas Cotton Finance Corporation will begin operations next Tuesday to remove 5 million dollars of Texas cotton from a clogged market. Chair J A Pendrum said plans would be finalized at a board meeting and the firm would start business immediately after. Rural districts lag in subscriptions though cities expect large quotas. Farmers may borrow against stored cotton for up to 18 months until the market normalizes.

Charles Ringling sixth of the Ringling brothers died in Sarasota after a cerebral hemorrhage induced by a cold contracted in Birmingham with the circus. Only John Ringling of this city survives.
