Homemaking Class Education Programs Taught by Limestone Freestone Teachers
Teachers from Limestone and Freestone county grammar schools join a three hour college credit program at the High School Homemaking Cottage. About twenty three teachers work in five groups under Sam Houston State Teachers College. Director is Mr W C Perkins. Monday night sessions run six to nine. Thanksgiving dinner served to 214 students with turkey dressing green beans cranberries hot rolls and cherry cobbler. Gospel means good news.

Seven Students to Attend Press Conference in Denton

Fruit Cake Sale Begins In Mexia During Holidays
Explorers Scout Troop 63 of Mexia led by A Gilbert Smith took orders for fruit cakes made by the Home and Family Living Class. Cakes sold for 1.50 per pound with profits split by the troop and class. orders were delivered as ready around the Mexia area during Thanksgiving and upcoming Christmas holidays.

Choir to present program on December 17
The Methodist youth float carried the theme Help Keep Christ In Christmas during the Christmas parade held last Saturday. Committees prepared the float featuring a small church and children on one end and a decorated tree on the other. The choir will sing popular and sacred songs on December 17 and plans group singing at lunch if weather allows.

Betty Crocker Test Held for Homemaking Students
The Betty Crocker contest test was administered today in the Homemaking cottage by Miss Sadie Jo Black. It lasted about 50 minutes with students using electrographic pencils to mark responses. The test included one subjunctive question and about 150 objective questions on homemaking topics. The top local winner earns a $1,500 college scholarship. second place receives $500. English Classes Plan Dallas Trip to See McBeth

A new study hall procedure began last week with a pupil checklist for parents and teachers. Roll is checked at period start, five minutes to obtain information for lessons, then quiet seating for the remainder. Checks occur only once every six weeks.
