Rabies Outbreak Reported in Galveston Island
Galveston faces a critical rabies outbreak with more than six dogs confirmed positive. County officials declared a 30 day dog quarantine after an emergency meeting with veterinarians. Rabid dogs were found in Island City Homes, a crowded area housing about 500 families, and at least 20 people received anti rabies injections.

W. H. Harper aged 76, brother of Mrs. R. C. Daniels of Mexia, died in Houston after months of illness. Funeral services were held in Houston with a Masonic burial in Brenham.
