Mexia police report a series of wrecks in recent days with a vehicle leaving the scene in each incident. On Tuesday a 1977 Ford owned by Rule Buck Durbin was damaged on McKinney Street while parked. On Wednesday a 1976 Ventura owned by William Lucian Owens was hit on McKinney as another car passed on the left and fled. A chrome wire spoke hubcap was stolen from Hunt Street.
Austin based Ralph H Roach Petro Ltd proposes 18 month temporary gas rules for the Pokey F Cotton Valley field Limestone County. Rules include well spacing 933 3735 feet 640 acre proration units 10 tolerance max diagonal 100 percent acreage surface casing per Water Resources recommendations. Karen Master, longtime girlfriend of Cullen Davis, awarded temporary custody of her two sons by State District Judge Joe Kidson Fidson in Fort Worth. The Texas Supreme Court ruled six to three that mobile homes cannot be used as residences in a subdivision with covenants banning trailers. The decision upheld a district court injunction barring Elmer Bliss from placing a mobile home on a Memorial Park Addition lot in Kermit. The majority cited the covenant dated 1948 prohibiting trailers as residences.
