Graveside Rites For C. B. Hyden Held In Cox Cemetery
Graveside rites for C. B. Hyden, 84, were held at Cox Cemetery near Groesbeck with Rev. Olin Waldrip officiating. Masons participated. Hyden, a retired farmer and Methodist, died Monday at Cox Hospital after a 10 day stay. Surviving are his widow, a brother Ples Hyden of Grand Junction, Colorado, a sister-in-law, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services are pending for Elijah Vinson Coolidge resident
Funeral arrangements are pending in Coolidge at Mc Elroy Funeral Home for Elijah Red Vinson 64 who died Monday night of a heart attack. He left home to visit a neighbor and was found by his wife. The body was examined by Dr A L Bradford and death attributed to a heart attack. Vinson a Limestone County native was a retired merchant and carpenter and had owned a service station and a grocery in Gladeswater. He had lived in Longview and Los Angeles and moved back to Coolidge six months ago with his wife. Surviving are three sons Marion Denver Cole Herman and Harvey all named with locations Denver Anaheim and Nebraska. one sister and one brother.

Taxes Being Paid At Usual Pace in Groesbeck Office
Limestone County Tax Collector A B Wep Sims reports about 200 poll tax receipts issued in the county. State and county taxes are coming in about as usual with forty percent secured since October 1. About fifteen percent collected in November, leaving roughly forty five percent remaining. An office will be set up in the Stanford Insurance Agency in Mexia for tax collection. Poll taxes may be purchased anytime from next Monday on.

Black widow spider bite proves fatal in Las Vegas

Willard Lee Bosley 18 of Mexia was arrested in a stolen 1952 Chevrolet and confessed to robbing Modern Cleaners at 500 East Commerce Street. He admitted further thefts including a stolen pickup in Groesbeck and a forged check, while being held on forgery questions.

Airliner Crashes in Snowstorm Near Williamsport
A Philadelphia to Cleveland airliner with 25 aboard crashed into a mountain near Williamsport Pennsylvania during a landing attempt in a heavy snowstorm. Three survivors were hospitalised, two in critical condition, after a helicopter reach the scene and transported a physician. the aircraft had circled for another approach before disappearing from tower visibility.

Brother in law of Mexia woman dies in Alabama
Vernon Gaines, brother-in-law of Mrs. Clyde McFall of Mexia, died in Jackson Alabama after a November 11 accident where his station wagon flipped after hitting a washout. Stolen Medical Bag Found After Tehuavana Highway Stop
A medical bag belonging to Dr. A. L. Bradford of Coolidge was found between Mexia and Tehuavana on Highway 171 after an apparent burglary at the doctor’s Coolidge home Thursday night. Narcotics were taken and police, plus Limestone County Sheriff Jack Bothwell, pursue several substantial clues in the ongoing investigation.
