National Guards Train With Tanks Near Marlin

Mexia's National Guard Company B will train in tanks and infantry tactics in Marlin over December 13 and 14. Commanding officer Capt Charles Barker says the unit will travel by convoy and bivouac near Marlin, then return to Mexia. 4-H Turkey Winners From Mexia District Earn Ribbons and Cash

Three Negro boys from the Mexia area won district 4-H turkey raising prizes. Erevin Foreman and Archie Jones Jr. received blue ribbons and $32.49 each, while George Echols Jr. earned a red ribbon and $21.66. Texas Toll Rises From Refinery Blast And Crashes
