In Chihuahua Mexico an unknown number of American men and women wed in quickie ceremonies before a bogus judge. The marriages are not legally valid. The fake judge Diego Jiminez was arrested near Vado Cedillos across from Fabens Texas. Diplomatic officers investigated the act. Colorado lists 4375 miles of railroads and Idaho 2713 miles.

Drafting of Dads Due Next Year in War Effort
Gen. Lewis B. Hershey said the armed forces will begin drafting fathers next summer to bolster manpower. He estimated about one million fathers are available, with only about 500,000 likely to be accepted.
