Funeral services for Viola Freeman 80 lifelong Limestone County resident will be held Monday at 2 30 p m in the Launa Chapel Methodist Church with Rev W F Ford officiating. Burial follows in Sandy cemetery under Dorsey Keatts Funeral Home. She died Friday at 8 15 a m in General Mexia Hospital. Surviving are five daughters Beatrice Mosley Eva Watley Martha Porter Pelham Curtis Lee Williams and Ruth Henderson all of Mexia a son Homer Freeman of Mexia a sister Easter Sparks of Coolidge eight grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Navy to resume Thresher search with bathyscaphe Trieste
The Navy plans to deploy the bathyscaphe Trieste to the Thresher wreck area in mid August after refitting at Boston Naval Shipyard. The submarine was lost April 10 in 8,400 feet of water about 220 miles east of Cape Cod with 129 aboard. five Trieste dives in late June and early July found debris but no hull. Weather permitting, Trieste will be towed to the search area around August 12.
