Mexia Guardsmen Headed for Fort Bragg Training
Mexia National Guardsmen began a two week summer training stint at Fort Bragg North Carolina. Platoon Sergeant Leo Seelinger led Company C First Battalion 48rd Infantry Airborne First Platoon with Sgt. Weldon Fleming as First Sergeant. Captain Deal from Dallas commanded. The unit travels via Waco and Austin then Bergstrom Air Force Base to Fort Bragg returning August 14.

Sherri Vaughn of Groesbeck was named Limestone County Farm Bureau queen and will advance to the District 8 Queen Contest.
