John Barcus spoke on unification, and delegates were chosen to the Corsicana District Conference to vote against the merger. Big Baptist Revival Arrives In Mexia As Dr Truett Speaks
Dr. Truett of Dallas arrives in Mexia to begin a two week campaign for Christ. Evening services start at 8 with a worship period earlier. The tent was reerected after a wind storm, and daily services run from 10 each morning. The call goes to all citizens and neighboring communities to attend and support the revival effort led by local Baptists.

Parade Plans Set for May 6 With Many Floats
The parade committee led by J. I. Riddle with Blake Forrest and William N. Schmidt selects Fire Chief Pittman as marshal. Mrs. Georgia Bergeron oversees the school float. floats assemble at 1 pm on South Ross and start at 2 pm. Over 100 cars and floats expected including a Colored school float and an Elks Club feature with musicians.

Funeral services for Miss Mary Oliver aged 24 who died Sunday at her father C J Oliver’s home near Mexia were held late Monday at Hillcrest City Cemetery with the Rev Joe Jeffers officiating. Copeland Indicted in Dayton Dance Hall Death Case
Copeland faces murder charges after a fatal shooting at a Dayton dance hall six weeks ago. The Limestone County grand jury returned 20 indictments, nine felonies, and Sheriff Whit Popejoy rearrested 26 defendants for the next term. Copeland, from Frosa district, allegedly shot through a door at Brock Cayton during the dance. he says the shot was aimed at the ceiling. The case will be scheduled for trial in Judge A. M. Blackmon’s court.

Hindenburg Wins German Presidency With Massive Victory
Berlin April 27 Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg has been elected President of the Republic with 14 600 000 votes from about 30 ½ million voters. His nearest challenger Dr Wilhelm Marx received roughly 13 700 000, while Thaelmann of the Communists got about 1 700 000. The Nationalists plan to keep the cabinet intact, and protests from the Communist side call for a general strike to protest Hindenburg’s election as official results are checked.

Mexia sent eight girls to a three day state clothes contest in Austin. Mary Porter Travis placed second in Group B simple wash dress, Mildred Taylor won first in Dingerie dresses, and Mexia scored 25 points in Group B. Beaumont won Group A, Bryan won Class C, and Marshall led Group B with 40 points among 600 contestants.
