Mexia High School dominated the Sixteenth District Interscholastic League meet at Calvert with top honors in both literary and athletic events. The all around title went to Mexia with 87 points, edging Calvert 85 and Hearne 27. Mexia also led in track with 27 points to Cameron's 26. Results include multiple district winners in debates, declamations, extemporaneous speaking, essays, and track.

Houston April 20 Raymond King 20 drowned yesterday while swimming in Bay Shore near Sylvan Bene. He was the first drowning victim of the 1026 bathing season. Several boys swam with King but their efforts to save him failed.
